I don’t really know what I’m going to do when I can’t get the password and the Two-Factor Authentication.
When I try to login at https://www.wordfence.com/ I can click on “lost password” and then I get a new password. That’s fine, but when I don’t have the numbers from Two-Factor Authentication I still can’t log in.

The Two-Factor Authentication works really good on my web pages so the trouble is only at https://www.wordfence.com/

Any suggestion on what should I do?

  • Hey @andreasson,

Can you please email wftest@wordfence.com and include your Wordfence.com username and email that’s associated with the account? If so, we’ll send Two-Factor backup codes to the email associated with the account. Please use attn gerroald for the subject, include and link to this thread, and update this thread in case there’s an issue receiving the email.

It’s worth mentioning that when you initially set up Two-Factor on the account you used an app like Google Authenticator to scan the QR code and generate the codes. You might check your phone for an authenticator app like this to see if the codes are being generated there.

    Hi Gerroald,

I have got the same problem, I can log into my site using 2FA with the authenticator I registered, but when I try to login into wordfence.com, the code from the authenticator does not work. Passwort and username is ok.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hey @orthobiotix,

If you can also send the information I requested from “@-andreasson” I’ll send you backup recovery codes as well.

    Hey @wfgerald

thank you for sending me 2FA backup codes for my Wordfence Central account.
I was able to login to the account and reconfigure 2FA.

    Kind regards,

    Hey @joeriman,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear it!

@orthobiotix & @andreasson – I’ve forwarded your codes to the email associated with your accounts as well. Please confirm you’re able to log in once you get a chance.

    Thanks for the help 🙂

It works fine now and I even activated 2FA. But before I logged out I logged in with another browser. Just to be sure it worked.
