    Hi!

I have a blog (wp hosted by godaddy.com) Tonight I went to the dash of my wp and planned on posting. I noticed that there was something that need to be updated.

When I clicked on it I immediately got an error page. It locked me out of my dash. I cannot go back in no matter how hard I try. This is the url it took me too:

    http://happyclutter.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Findex.php

I am not sure what version I had. I do know I update (normally) as soon as something becomes available. I just started this blog in May and I think I had to update it when I first started out.

    My site is fine: http://happyclutter.com

I am not really really swift with tech terms but I will try to follow instructions.

    Thank you,

    Patty

It lets me log in but it takes me straight to the error page. It was very strange this evening. When I clicked to “update” it went to that page in a split second. It did not even attempt to ‘do’ anything.

I have never missed a post yet so I am really sad too my socalledmommylife.

Thanks for trying to help me.

    Love, Patty

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

I was able to find my ftp but cannot figure out how to do all those steps. Should I just call godaddy and have them reset my account. I am not tech savvy. I have never had issues like this before with WP.
If anyone would log in and do it for me… I would not care. I have no problems with that. Patty

I asked for a roll back what ever that is 🙂 I know it means I go back in time. I also know I will not get any younger 🙂 Thanks for your help. I think I should stick with my kindle and iphone 🙂 Love ya! Patty

I’m sorry but we do not offer free onsite support here. I would also strongly advise you not to pass on any access details to anyone on the forum or anyone who contacts you via an unsolicited email. You could ask GoDaddy if they can reset your site back to the previous version of WordPress. If they can, you should then be able to upgrade again but this time, you will be:

    – making a database backup
    – switching to the default Twenty Eleven theme
    – deactivating all plugins before you begin.

    Yes? 🙂

Thank you so much. I did ask for a roll back which I am pretty sure will take me back to the last version. I know I am not supposed to give out information but I am that desperate. 🙁 I have been online for about 13 years now and this month everything went haywire! My mouse, then my keyboard, now my computer and then yesterday WP. I weep 🙂 Maybe God wants me off the computer 🙂 Thank you for your kind words. Patty
