  • THis page lists the different options for resetting a password: https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

If your website is hosted by GoDaddy, then use their control panel (they shoud have provided you with login details to access this) to access the website files and database.

Take backups of any file or the database before making any changes, just in case.

I have an issue where I login to WordPress as Admin, it shows my website name at the top of the page but that is it. I have no controls for me to edit ANYTHING on the site. It was created on WordPress with the Elementor plugin. Through the plugin dashboard I can see like 3 pages I can click on to ‘edit’ but it gives me a page saying “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

The site itself is still up and running, it just looks like I have no control over it anymore and I’m not sure what happened. Especially as I am the only one that ‘should’ have access to edit the site.

Any information is much appreciated. I am sooooo lost and really need to make changes. It is a website for the 19 year old free Clinic that I have worked at for 9 years.

    HELP!!!!!

To get the best support you should start a new support topic with a clear title explaining your issue (e.g. Can log in to WP dashboard but have lost admin capabilities): https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/#new-post

    Hi there @chcadvocate!

Thanks for reaching out; I’m confident that you’ll get better (and quicker) responses if you create your own post with your question.

You can do that by clicking on the Create Topic link at the top of the forum in which you’d like to post. . .

Tip: Just in case the original poster has opted into follow-up emails, creating your own post will keep their inboxes clean of clutter and help us keep better track of your issue. 🙂

    One more thought, @chcadvocate

If Elementor seems to be the issue, be sure to check out the Support pages there as well and consider reaching out to them for help:

    https://elementor.com/support

    Good luck!
