Support » Plugin: All In One WP Security & Firewall » Locked IP addresses list is empty

  • It says this in top of the page: “This tab displays the list of all IP addresses which are currently temporarily locked out due to the Login Lockdown feature”

We got some couple hundred login attempts based on these emails:
“A lockdown event has occurred due to too many failed login attempts or invalid username:
    Username: admin
    IP Address: 188.163.51.43

    IP Range: 188.163.51.*

Log into your site’s WordPress administration panel to see the duration of the lockout or to unlock the user.!”

The locked IP addresses list stays still empty and white listing only our own IP addresses didn’t stop flow of those emails.

Max Login Attempts was on all the time which I believe triggered the lock outs and thus the emails.

Hi, what is the time length set up in the following feature Time Length of Lockout (min):? This is located in User Login -> Login Lockdown?

    Thank you

It was first five minutes and I changed it to 12500 minutes

IP addresses are mostly from Russia and Ukraine

Hi, do you have one of the Brute Force features enabled for example: Rename Login Page? This will help you with your issue.

    Kind regards

I enabled rename login page also but it didn’t stop the messages.

How the The locked IP addresses list should work? It doesn’t show anything right now?

Hi, can you disable and delete the plugin. Then install a fresh copy of the plugin. When you activate the plugin, make sure you say Yes to reinstalling the previous plugins settings. Report back.

    Thank you

Hi, I am out of ideas. I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your issue.

The most probable explanation for an empty locked ip list is that the ip addresses that were once locked have now been released due to the expiry of the lockout time.

Another thing you can do is to check the “aiowps_login_lockdown” table using PHP MyAdmin.
Does that table have any entries in it? If not, check your server logs to see if there are any further clues as to why no data is being saved.

    aiowps_login_lockdown lists 42 login fails.

Lockout time is still going on for them so it can’t be reason for empty list in WP admin.
