• This plugin requires users to sign up for a separate OptinMonster account before it can be used. For those who don’t want another third-party service, this makes the plugin impractical.

    Hello @uipro 👋

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience!

My apologies for any confusion; an active OptinMonster subscription is necessary to use the WordPress plugin.

When OptinMonster was first launched, we were a WordPress-only plugin. However, there were a number of challenges with this approach that negatively impacted users as well. Issues like theme / plugin / server conflicts were not uncommon. Additionally, by running everything through your own site’s database, it could slow down your entire site’s performance if you were seeing great success with our tool.

By moving to a SaaS solution, we were able to eliminate these issues for the 99.9% of users.

Additionally, we’re able to release major features and bug fixes instantaneously for all users, even those who do not use automatic plugin updates on their WordPress site.

I hope that is helpful information! Again, thank you for taking the time to give OptinMonster a try. 🙂
