Support » Theme: Twenty Thirteen » Location of code for compact mobile menu?

  • Resolved medvp3d

    Hi all

    I’ve created a child theme of 2013 and created my styles.css file and changed the menu colours and menu backgrounds and made it bold.

    However if I resize my window to simulate a mobile phone browser, the compact dropddown version of the menu is still the original colours and look.

    In which file and what part of the code do I need to look at to also change the colours for the compact drown down version?

  • The file you want is the style.css @line 2785 section marked /* Small menu */

    You need the css code starting @line 2786 to 2844 copied over to your child theme and adjusted as needed.

    That SORT of worked. But now it always shows the small menu even if I’m on a large screened browser, together with the regular menu

    If I also copy from the style.css the part just below that, from line 2846 to 2849:
    div.nav-menu > ul {
    display: none;
    then it takes the regular menu away and always shows the small menu.

    I just need it to work like default, with the exception of changing the colours

    Any thoughts?

    If you are just changing the color codes then that should not happen.
    Around line 919 you should have this
    .menu-toggle {
    display: none;
    which keeps the small menu from showing on standard screens – that’s not been changed has it?

    In the original code from line 2786 to 2844 that you had me copy to my style, there was an option to:
    display: inline-block;

    so I just deleted that part in my style and now it seems to be working as it should

    Thanks for you help!
