    Hi there,

I’ve noticed the following problem with this plugin.
Whenever I ‘forget’ to fill in the Location I get a message on top, didn’t fill in the following forms. Please set Location etc. etc. all nice and well.

So I’m like oh right nearly forgot, fill in the forms press publice for the event and the location is gone.

The V on the no physical location is suddenly turned on, eventhough I didn’t turn it on. So okay turn it off, fill in the location once more. Press Safe and it changed back to the no physical location.

So I thought okay maybe it’s the location, tried changing it to an already existing location by choosing from the small drop down menu. Fills in all well, moment I press safe, again the no physical location is activated.

So for some reason, whenever you forget to fill in the location at the moment you press publish you can start over because you cannot manage to change the location afterwards anymore.

I made a new event, copied pasted all the information, filled in the same location at the first time. Then published it and it had no problem at all. So my best guess is, that whenever you get the message you haven’t filled in a location the plugin decides that the event has no location and doesn’t let you alter the location anymore either.

Any guess on what could be causing this error?

  • Thanks. I’ve still not been able to reproduce the problem on my test site.

At the moment the developers are working on a number of updates relating to Events Manager and WPML which should be out in the next plugin update. I’m going to pass this thread along to them in case this is something they’re aware of or relates to something they’re already fixing.

Just a quick update via the Devs – this is a known bug and they’re working on a fix at the moment.

Alright awesome thanx for the update, hopefully they can find the problem 🙂

    To answer your questions:

In step 2, “When the screen refreshes…” are you hitting Publish or Save Draft?

Can you give us the details of the location you had problems with? It could be related to foreign characters or something like that.

I’m talking about publishing, not save draft.

And it’s not related to a specific location, it’s related to NOT choosing a location before the event is saved the first time. After I’ve saved an event without a location, it will not accept any location. It’s probably entering a null value in the database and your code won’t overwrite the null value.

    Hope this helps.

Great, thanks for the update. The Devs are on the case and there should be a fix soon.

Hello, just a quick note to update that I’m experiencing the exact same issue.
    So, apparently, no fix yet.
WordPress 4.2.2 running Accesspress Lite theme.
    WPML Version 3.1.9.7
Events Manager and WPML Compatibility Version 0.3

    Thanksfor the great work!

Which version of Events Manager are you using?

Sorry @ caimin_nwl, it is EM Version 5.5.6
Also, I’m using WP FullCalendar Version 0.9

I have Jetpack Version 3.5.3, but I disabled it and the problem cotinues, so I believe it is not related with Jetpack…

I’m still working on the page, but I can give you access to the dashboard, if needed. The “problematic” events are still there.
    Tks
