Support » Fixing WordPress » Locally Hosted Avatars for Registered Members – Possible?

  • Since I have a high traffic blog, I require registration before a member can post comments. However, there doesn’t appear to be an option for registered members to upload their own avatars. It seems as though the only way to have a custom avatar would be through third party bloat service Gravatar.

Is there a way to allow for registered members to upload their own avatars (have them locally hosted)? If not, is there a plugin that would allow for that? Also, since WP has ambitions to be a CMS rather than a blogging platform, in case this is not an internal part of WP< when is it going to be implemented?
