Localhost to Localhost

  • Hi all,

So I suspect this might be stupid question time but I’ve never done it before and need some advice.

I’ve been getting stuck in to my first wordpress project at work. I’m working on it from my localhost using wampserver. Everything is fine and going well.

What I want to do is take this project home and put it onto my localhost there. Now I assume it’s not as straight forward as copying the files over. Do I need to copy my database and then import it?

Any help or other suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • yes export the database and import it at home, AND copy the files.

[edit] You’ll need to modify the WordPress address and site address entries in the options table of the database to match the url for your home installation.
