 * I need help.
 * I’m on a Mac using MAMP. I had localhost all set up, but the local version of
my site was not synced to the live site. So I thought if I downloaded the live
site to my localhost location everything would work fine and be synced. The live
site uses SSL, my localhost did not. At this point, I was unable to access the
newly downloaded site via localhost because of the SSL issue.
 * I went into MyPHP/User and began to scroll through the fields allowing SSL. After
doing so, I am unable to even log into MyPHP because of a password issue. I receive
   a MySQL Error.
 * I need to resolve the MyPHP issue and then how to access my localhost so I can
then sync the sites and work locally then upload changes once I know they work.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Flocalhost-ssl-myphp%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Did you change the site URL (and remove the SSL part)after downloading the site
   and database?

 * Did you click the User Accounts tab in phpMyAdmin and while editing a user, change
the user connection to `REQUIRE SSL`? If you only changed the `root@localhost`
account, then it is possible to edit the MySQL and phpMyAdmin configuration to
regain access. If you also made this change to the `root@127.0.0.1` account,
then the only recourse is to re-install MAMP.
 * Most control panels (cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, etc) remove the User Accounts
tab in the version of phpMyAdmin they provide.
