Support » Fixing WordPress » localhost install not showing plugins

  • I’ve got my wp install on my home machine so I can tweak without messing with ftp. This was fine until I added plugins like Jeremiah’s WeatherPlugin and Allyn Gibson’s Shire Reckoning. They didn’t show up on the page, but that didn’t matter too much either – until I started using themes, and installed Ryan’s great Theme-Switcher.

I can’t get the themes selectors to show on my index.php on localhost. I don’t get any errors, I just don’t get the function either. The page works fine, I can do whatever I want to do with it in the main theme, but can’t access the other themes to work with them. Everything else works fine on localhost; it’s just this one plugin thing that’s not working….

I have the xampp install, version 1.4.9 for windows. If that makes a difference….

  • No one has thoughts on this? I can’t figure out what’s up with this – spent most of the day today trying to find a workaround, still having to upload changes to live to see the other themes *sigh*.
