Localhost database problem | WordPress.org

I have the files in my var/www/ but I need to make the database. What is the easiest way to go about this? Any straightforward tutorials (text/video).

Depends, are you on a Mac, PC, Linux? Did you install Mamp, Wamp, something else.

I’m on a Mac, running Mamp and it comes with phpmyadmin. That’s where I go to set up my db.

Linux, already have everything running. Do I just need to create a mock database with the same information as my wordpress database?

If you have a WordPress database already, you just need to connect to it. Your database should be in your phpmyadmin.
