# localhost access only!?!?

 * Installed XAMPP and wordpress on my pc. My blog is working fine locally but I
   cant access the blog from another pc in my lan or from the internet. I’ve forwarded
   the necessary ports but still can’t access the blog. (I get operation timeout)

 * Is the PC viewable on the network otherwise?
 * And what about by direct IP.
    Ex: [http://192.168.xxx.xxx](http://192.168.xxx.xxx)
 * Assuming it’s a window PC, what’s your hosts file look like?

 * I can access the pc by name or by ip address. but I’ll get operation timeout 
   using either [http://pcname/blog](http://pcname/blog) or [http://ipaddress/blog](http://ipaddress/blog)

 * Found out what the problem was. The firewall was blocking access to the computer.
   Modifeid the firewall config and now it works fine.
