# Local website not working

 * I am working on the website for a company at which I work. I am trying to create
   a local copy of the website to play around with. I installed XAMPP (on Windows
   7) following the tutorial on lifeinthegrid.com, and I activated the Duplicator
   plugin on our wp-admin. I created the package and installer, and downloaded them
   to C:/xampp/htdocs/website. Using Chrome, I ran the installer, and everything
   worked fine, no errors. However, when I try to visit the local site (using the
   wp-admin link in the top left), all I get is an index of the files in the folder,
   rather than the website. I made sure XAMPP was set up correctly, and I followed
   the Duplicator tutorial from lifeinthegrid.com. I am good with software programming(
   C/C++, Java, etc.), but network and web stuff is all new to me. What do I need
   to change?

 * It sounds like you may not have Apache setup to process the php index.php file.

 * Thanks for your help. Apache was set up correctly. The issue was that there was
   no index.php file created. Once I copied the index.php file from my local WordPress
   folder, everything worked beautifully.
 * I’m not sure if this is a bug in the installer, or due to my lack of experience.
 * Either way, a suggestion would be to create a video tutorial that shows how to
   use the Duplicator with XAMPP. Since you have videos on how to use these things
   separately, a video on how to integrate these should not be too difficult.
