That option indicates where the backups will be stored on the server, usually that option is pre-filled automatically with a unique generated directory, but you can change it as needed. We have made this change in our latest version, so probably the docs are not yet up to date, but we will clear that up.
I’ve taken a screenshot of what I’m seeing in XCloner v4.2.12 when I expand the “Local Storage” option on the Storage Location Settings page.

Notice the first setting is “Backup Start Location” (I highlighted it in yellow) – it is blank. The next setting, “Backup Storage Location” is pre-populated. I need to know what the first setting, “Backup Start Location” is used for.
The Backup Start Location should be your WordPress root directory(full path) that you want to backup, it’s usually pre-filled but you might need to manually add it in your case.
Let us know if you run into any issues there. Are you able to see any files listed in the Generate Backup screen->Files tab?

Thanks for the follow-up answer, Ovi. So the Backup Start Location could be used to backup only a certain directory (e.g., wp-content) and ignore everything else, correct?
Yes, that is correct, it can be used to backup only wp-content folder if needed.
