 * Hi there, I’m just wondering if smush.it could process images locally instead
   of send o receive to the yahoo servers. I always face problems due to bad server
   response or connection time out. Recently I check the bulk smush out, which was
   a really bad experience; and you can’t smush hundrads of images one by one.

 * [@john](https://wordpress.org/support/users/john/) Conner,
 * Thanks for asking…

 * at this time there are no plans to bring this local. We did look into this some
   time ago and the requirement of the local server with the specialized image processing
   would be impossible to package into a plugin that would work across a wide range
   of server configurations.

 * Agreed. We are looking at some WP Cron based logic so that you don’t need to
   attend to the bulk processing yourself. Just upload the images and the scheduled
   WP Cron will then process the image via the Yahoo! service behind the scenes.

 * Thanks for detailed response, just one thing: the process of image optimization
   is not that much big deal, I mean even an old sever with week connection can
   do it fast based on some PHP scripts (like Coppermine or CPG); why smush.it takes
   so long to do that for each image?

 * Hi there [@john](https://wordpress.org/support/users/john/) Conner,
 * I hope your well today.
 * What sort of time delay are you experiencing per image? I’ve tested this and
   haven’t noticed a unreasonable amount of time per image.
 * Please advise! 🙂
 * Thanks.
 * Kind Regards
    Jack.

 * Hi @ Jack Kitterhing
 * Thanks for response, I think there’s a high expectation, actually I compared
   the plugin with photo scripts or some other photo plugins out there; which are
   able to convert images so fast. Anyway I doubt the current speed is optimum,
   I was just thinking if it’s possible to make the plugin works based on PHP packages
   instead of working with Yahoo (e.g. Google Page Speed or Imagick).
 * Warm Regards
