    Hi Support Team,

    I hope you are well.

I just activated your Woocommerce Paypal plugin, so far it works perfectly. The paypal and card button is visible now in the checkout page.
However, I am targeting Europe and I would like to offer the local payments what is supported as mentioned in the plugin description, e.g. iDeal is very important to have in The Netherlands and Bancontact in Belgium, etc.

Could you please help me how to get these local payments to work / activated / visible?
I hope you could assist me what I can do best to have these local payment options visible.

    Many thanks,
    Terry

    Hello @terryterryterry

you can test this by making a test purchase and choosing these countries.
When I test this in my own testing environment; at the moment I choose the Netherlands under the country drop-down menu (for the customer), the iDeal option appears under the “PayPal” button. If you are changing the country from one to another, you might need to refresh the page before the payment options show correctly (this is something I will discuss internally).

In short, the country selection decides what payment options you provide to the customers. There are 2 options in the PayPal Payments settings (WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal) that can avoid payments options to be shown:
    1) Text field “Disable funding sources”; here you can force certain options to be not showing.
    2) You can hide the “Pay Later” options, by selecting the described options in this same page.

Hopefully, this helps you confirm the functioning of these options for other countries.

Let me know now if you still have additional questions.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Joost,

Thank you for looking into this.

I did the tests you suggested and after many times refreshing the page, use my VPN to swap IP’s, only sometimes it worked.

We just launched the website ( https://www.studentroomrentals.com/ ) and we receive many complaints from the Netherlands that they can’t see the iDeal button even after refreshing the page etc. Is it possible to have these local payment buttons always available, just iDeal and sofort would be amazing? It seems not really to work always, this means we lose a lot of clients. Is this something you could look into?

I am happy to share my logins so you could make the buttons always visible… now it’s there, then disappearing.. I am looking for a more consistent solution, knowing not to loose clients this way.

Looking forward hearing your solution and suggestions.

    Many Thanks,
    Terry

    Hello Terry,

thank you for opening the service desk ticket and providing the details, but as described in the SD ticket, we are relying on PayPal to intrepid the details of the customer we send them and they decide what options are available to the customers by returning them to our plugin. There is currently no option available to force the payment options to the checkout page. This is a deliberate choice because it would show payment options to customers that are not available to them. Here is the list that should be the payment options per country:

    Joost
