• Is there a security risk if I install plugins for my local installation (on my laptop)?

Plugins such as stats is not useful since the site is not live to the public. But if I want to see what the All-in-one-SEO Pack, Google XML Sitemap, NexGEN Gallery, or Contact Form 7 does, I would like to install it locally and test them out.

I don’t think these plugins open up a port to the internet and thus a security risk if I run them locally.
