 * hey. i’ve just managed to download WordPress & upload it to my remote server.
   i want to be able to re-design the site with a basic blank theme that I got from
   Lynda.com. do i need to set myself up to be able to work on it locally? if so
   how do i do this? do i need a separate wordpress file?

 * No – you don’t have to use a local install. You can work on the site whilst it’s
   on a remote server.

 * ok so i can work on my own theme in an editor on my computer and then upload 
   everything to the WordPress folder on my hosting server. is that correct? have
   tried to use the Bitnami WordPress Stack to work on it locally but I keep running
   into difficulty uploading. It’s not as straightforward as simply uploading WordPress
   by itself.
