# Local Host Connection Issue?

 * Hi,
 * I’m new to self-hosting and have hit a bump I can’t seem to fix, despite research.
   When I attempt to access my WP admin page, I receive the following Google Chrome
   Error:
 * > Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to localhost
   > Did you mean: localho.­st
 * Prior to this I rec’d an error saying a Firewall or Anti-virus program was preventing
   connection. I disabled my software, and now the above error keeps showing. I’ve
   tried IE and Firefox; they amount to the same sort of error.
 * I accessed my WP software settings through my host software via my Cpanel, and
   the URLs have not changed. I then went into phpMyAdmin and checked the wp_options.
   I thought maybe the entry named siteurl would have an option_value of [http://localhost/yourWpFolder](http://localhost/yourWpFolder),
   and I could remove the localhost. However, it is set as [http://mySite.com](http://mySite.com).
   I do not see a value anywhere in phpMyAdmin for [http://mySite.com/wp-admin](http://mySite.com/wp-admin).
   I’m unsure if the lack of this value is the issue; and I’m timid of adding/subtracting/
   updating something and creating a change I don’t know how to fix if incorrect.
 * I cannot access my WP Dashboard, only my host. I was tempted to delete and reinstall
   WordPress, but my site has been functioning without this issue for almost a year.
   I’d rather avoid such an extreme measure. I have not changed my domain host or
   my server host.
 * I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome. Since the error is presenting
   across multiple browsers, I’m fairly sure Chrome is not the root issue. I’ve 
   ruled out a Windows Firewall and Kasper confliction by disabling them. I’m not
   sure what to do next or how to fix this. I’d appreciate insights because I am
   stuck! I’m not the most knowledgeable, but I am trying to learn so I can be a
   more proficient operator. Thanks!
