Support » Plugin: LazyLoad Plugin – Lazy Load Images, Videos, and Iframes » Loads images below the fold

  • I activated the plugin and according to my Waterfall chart I find all requests of images below the fold still being loaded at once. Isn’t that exactly what the plugin should avoid?

    Cheers,
    Stan

  • Yes, this is a major problem with the lazy loading.

There’s no way to exclude the first X image(s) from the lazy loading feature without having a specific class, which is not ideal considering WordPress gives all images the exact same class.

This is extra important now that Google is putting extra emphasis with their new Web Vitals update and above-the-fold content.

I hope they fix this ASAP. Nobody is responding here though so I recommend creating a feature request on their contact form: https://wp-rocket.me/contact/

    Hello,

    I apologize for the experience!

Right now I don’t see any effect of the LazyLoad on your site either.

It seems you are using a cache plugin and Cloudflare, would you please clear all the cache layers and see if that helps?

    Best regards,

    Camila M.
