• Hi, we have rotating tweets on our homepage that looks & feels very smooth and nice. The problem we have is that our site’s loading times are quite high (around 5secs via pingdom). Pingdom is highlighting high connecting times to all images: avatars of tweet accounts as well as the permanent follow, reply, retweet, favorite buttons.

Is this something others have encountered? Could that be an issue at the integration of the plugin level?

    Thanks
    Helene

There have been problems in the past with the time it takes to get the Tweets from Twitter (hence all the caching in the plug-in), but this is the first time anyone’s mentioned a problem with the buttons. Certainly on my own site, they load very quickly.

I would have suggested cacheing the avatars or the follow button, but the reply/retweet/favorite buttons should be coming from your own server and if they are also slowing down the page, I’m a bit baffled by this.

Have you tried the Plug-in Performance Profiler plug-in?

Thanks I will look into it.

One other thought – perhaps a caching plugin – W3 Total Cache – for example?
