# Loading HTML in TEXT widget doesn't work

 * I haven’t been on my Dashboard for a while but today, I tried to add some banner
   HTML into a TEXT widget in my sidebar. I saved it then hit View Site and it’s
   not there. I have tried this from several different affiliate offers utilizing
   their HTML code. I have done this before and it works fine. Now, however, it 
   doesn’t show up at all. But, if immediately after the HTML code, I simply post
   some text, that does show up in my sidebar. What am I doing wrong?

 * Hi Saumie,
 * It depends on the code. Text widget can only display basic HTML etc. If you have
   active content you need to use a plugin. You can find a more detailed explanation

 * Well I did the basic HTML and it still doesn’t work. I am so frustrated with 
   this! Any updates will be great. That is why I like custom websites when you 
   don’t have to deal with someone else’s code! Ugh!
