load iframe via image click?

  • Okay so I’ve searched the net all over and can’t find a working example of this I can use, I don’t expect a response because I don’t have a broken code to work with but I know what I need from the code.

I embed youtube iframes into my wp posts for my blog, all my posts contain videos and this has become resource heavy, I want to create a splash image that only loads the iframe when clicked.

So i have my iframes and my .jpgs, I want to place the image in the wp post and have it so when it is clicked on the image unloads from the site and the iframe video is loaded in the same location. So a string of code that says, “if image is clicked, unload image, load iframe”

    Any ideas?
