Support » Theme: GeneratePress » Lo and behold! I had a beautiful, BIG featured image on my homepage!

  • I have been using the Twenty Seventeen theme for the past few years as it allowed me a BIG featured image on my homepage!

But I wanted a newer, faster, sleeker——all right, I’ll say: sexier——theme. I demoed LOTS of themes, every one of which had some major failing (for my needs).

I considered the Big 3: Astra, OceanWP, and GeneratePress. I was leaning toward Astra, which seems to be the current fave of so, so many WordPress bloggers / tutorialists. What won me over to GeneratePress was an accident:

While tinkering around with various themes, I had ignored the Logo options in the Site Identity in the Customizer. To me, a logo is a small doodad that goes in the upper left corner of a website.

For some reason, while I was demoing Generatepress (for the umpteenth time), I chose a 1500×1000 image as a logo, skipped the cropping.

I tried the same thing on Astra and OceanWP and a few others but only GeneratePress worked this way.

So, from now on, I’m a GeneratePress guy!

PS: I’m saving the 50¢-a-week allowance my wife gives me so I can go Pro!

    PS2: Support has been excellent.
