    Hi there,

thanks for adding llms.txt. However, Is it correct that you only include pages, and posts published in the last 12 months? Unfortunately, in the free version, I see just pages and no possibility to add posts at all (on several sites), that is also true when the posts were created recently and therefore should be included in the 12 months filter. Thanks for your support and clarification!

    Hello @adalov,

Thanks for reaching out about the llms.txtfile feature in Yoast SEO. Only content in the last 12 months are included in the file. If you have newer posts but not included, kindly share a full screenshot of what you have in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > Advanced > llms.txt. You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

    Hi @maybellyne,

here is a screenshot of an automatically generated llms.txt. Besides pages, it contains 4 randomly selected posts (Beitraege), which is not ideal (total count of posts on this site newer than 12 months = 11). In the manual selection option, however, it is not possible to select any posts that were recently published (October 2025) – as shown the second screenshot that only has pages in the dropdown select options and zero recent posts.

Looking forward to your support in resolving this issue.

    Kind regards!

Thannks for sharing the screenshots, @adalov. I’ve addressed your concerns below:

I see just pages and no possibility to add posts at all (on several sites)

While you can select pages you want included in the file manually, you cannot yet select posts.

Besides pages, it contains 4 randomly selected posts (Beitraege)

See screenshot that shows there are five posts but they weren’t randomly selected

which is not ideal (total count of posts on this site newer than 12 months = 11).

We only pick five posts within the last 12 months even if you have more

it is not possible to select any posts that were recently published (October 2025)

The posts are automatically selected for you. Selection is not based on the published date but on the last modified date. Looking at your post sitemap, the five posts with the most recent last modified dates are what’s included in the llms.txtfile. See screenshot.

Hi @maybellyne, very helpful clarifications! Are there any plans at Yoast SEO to expand the manually configured sitemap to posts and to more than the latest 5 posts from the last 12 months? Thanks.

When the llms.txtfile feature was first released, it was in its most basic form. We later added the option select pages manually. We are constantly improving and the option to select posts should be added subsequently.
