• This sequence was thankfully blocked.

A “bot” visited a URL, but the URL is not mine, its some different URL. It’s showing as activity from more one bot with more than one country/IP address.

That same URL shows up again as blocked by the firewall or as just blocked – “Bot was at” the URL/ “….force download php config….” as part of the string. This also shows up more than once.

Why would a random URL show up in my live traffic log as if it were my own?

  • Hi generic0,
We have seen issues like that before when Apache server is not configured correctly, your website is -most likely- set as the default website in the virtual hosts configuration, so when any user agent makes a request to your server with a host header that does not match any other virtual host, the default virtual host (which is your website) will handle this request.

If you are running your own VPS server, you should find this guide helpful regarding Apache virtual hosts configuration.

Otherwise, you may need to contact your host about this issue.

    Thanks.
