Live Traffic Filtering Issues

    When I’m creating a filter from the Live Traffic page, I can’t seem to eliminate /feed/ or /feed/rss for some reason.

    Here’s what my filter looks like:

    If I miss my guess, I don’t think this filtering function allows for you to rule out multiple items at the same time. If it does, I’m not seeing that it has any effect when I try to do that. Am I wrong in thinking that you have to do one filter at a time ? Or can you stack items that it should rule out.

    While we’re on the subject of filtering, you have a ‘contains’ search element, but you don’t have ‘does not contain’. :-((((( You have equal and not equal…but not does not contain….

    Hi @magicmiles,

    I think that’s a great feature, adding a does not contain filter within Live Traffic.

    I did some searching and noticed that it was already in our system of suggestions (Internal Ref: #FB4054).

    If there’s any update on this feature, I’ll ping this thread.

    Thanks for responding. However, this wasn’t a ‘feature’ request.

    My question is still outstanding.

    How do I filter out multiple items ? Or is it even possible at all ? It doesn’t appear that it is but from the interface shown that it does appear to be possible. But that’s not what’s happening if it is a feature of advanced filter.

    Secondarily, the issue of not blocking /feed or /feed/rss doesn’t seem to work even on it’s own. Do I have to provide the FULL url ? or just a partial as in just ‘/feed/’ ????

    I’m also trying to filter out the bots, all of them, and in that sample filter, I wanted to add in googlebot, msnbot, etc….but i can’t seem to get it to do that.
    How would I write the USER agent statement in this case. Shouldn’t it do a contain ? or does NOT contain ?

    Hi again,

    It is possible to use multiple filters.

    The reason the ≠ filter isn’t working is because it only matches the entire URL, not part of it.

    You’ll want to set the filter as URL ≠ https://your-full-website.com/feed/, and even then, it will only remove the exact match, /feed/rss will still show up.

    As for removing BingBot or any other bot, you’ll also need to use a does not contain filter, as the ≠ filter only returns results that does not match the exact user agent.

    In all cases, you’ll be able to achieve your desired result if a does not contain filter existed.

    Thanks for responding. I do appreciate that.

    Can we expect a DOES NOT CONTAIN filter item anytime soon ?

    I am a paying customer so I’m asking for me….

    That said, I’m wondering why your suggestion is failing….

    As you can see from the image, I have added in the full URL, and the filtered item is STILL showing up …. ummm, that’s probably not supposed to happen is it ?
