• Hi guys

I have noticed that some themes have ‘lite’ on the end when to get more options you to pay for a pro version. Now this is great but there are some themes that does not happen on…so you like the look of it and check what it does and install it and then you find out that one of the options you wanted you have to pay for!

Any chance you could make it something that has to go at the end of the theme if you have to pay for all of the options. Or at least in the description say which are free and which you have to pay for?

It can get very frustrating when you are looking for a theme and have to keep installing/uninstalling themes because you don’t find out until you get into it.

    Thanks in advance

    Kriss 🙂

Currently, screenshots and descriptions of themes listed at https://wordpress.org/themes/ must only depict features that are available in the free theme. Depicting pay-only features is actually a violation of the directory’s rules.

Can you point out any specific ones which are in violation of that?

Ok here is a popular one that doesn’t mention in the description or the name of the theme that it is the lite version.

    https://wordpress.org/themes/customizr/

It says what you get and you go in and see the options and think wow this is good so install it… then you go into some of the options and it says to get more upgrade to the pro version.

I would like to see either lite put on the end of the theme name OR in the description something that says that there is a pro version. You then know that before you install you are not getting a full theme.

Ah, I get what you mean.

At the very least, everything in the screenshot and description there is available in the free theme, and there’s nothing preventing them from offering more for payment in the theme itself (they just can’t falsely advertise pay-only features as available in the the free theme via the listing).

I’ll pass this along to the Theme Review Team for consideration.

    Thank you!

I know it is a silly little thing… but can be annoying when you are looking for a new theme for a client.
