    Hello,
I had the yikes plugin installed for a while and working well, but recently the form is not working properly and my lists are no more connected:
No MailChimp lists found. Head over to MailChimp.com to setup your first mailing list. Once thats done you can head back here to customize it!

and I get all kinds of error messages like:
    Account Overview
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘username’ in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data03/95/2166695/html/wp-content/plugins/yikes-inc-easy-mailchimp-extender/admin/partials/menu/account-details.php on line 53
    |

I tried uninstalling/ reinstalling the plugin without success.
    My blog is paintingdemos.com

    Thanks 🙂

    Hi @sandrinepeli,

Uh oh! Sorry about that. Can you confirm that your API key is connected?

If it is connected properly (and you can log in to your MailChimp.com account as normal) your server’s IP address may have been blacklisted by MailChimp. For some reason this has happened to 2 people in the last couple of weeks.

Let me know if your API key is connected and you can log into MailChimp.com before we go further.

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

    Hello Kevin,
Yes my API key is connected in the yikes plugin and when I log in Mailchimp I see all my lists.
I recently deleted a few lists from Mailchimp, I wonder if that could be connected?
I took off the yikes form from my blog until i can make it work properly and linked directly to my Mailchimp sign up form.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @sandrinepeli,

Okay, since you deleted some lists, let’s clear the API cache to make sure it isn’t a disconnect between what’s being stored in WordPress vs. MailChimp. Here is a quick article on how to clear the cache: https://yikesplugins.com/support/knowledge-base/api-cache-settings/.

If that doesn’t clear up the issue, I would recommending contact your host or MailChimp and asking them to check if you’re being blacklisted (which would cause all API calls to be shut down). A lot of times your IP address is shared between different servers and if any malicious activity was detected by MailChimp from that IP, they will blacklist it. So it would have nothing to do with your specific MailChimp activity. Here is a link to another support ticket where the user had what appears to be the same issue: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mailing-lists-no-longer-showing-up/

Yes, I did try clearing the API cache without result. I am contacting Mailchimp then.
    Thanks

I emailed Maichimp yesterday to ask if I was being blacklisted. I did not get a reply but this morning the plugin is back to normal and everything works well.
    Thanks for your help 🙂

    Hi Sandrine,

Sorry I was away for the weekend – so without talking to MailChimp or your server everything is back to normal? If that’s the case, yay!

We’ll just hope it doesn’t happen again :-).

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

    Hi @danmiller and @pietroperona,

As I said above, if this issue occurs my first recommendation is to contact both your server/hosting company and MailChimp.com. Ask them if your IP has been blacklisted and if they could test communication between the API and your site.

Please let me know what they get back to you with.

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful,
    Kevin.
