    Hi WCVendors,

I seem to have run into some problems seeing a list of vendors and or pending vendors.

    (1) I got notification that there is a pending vendor application. However, when I log in as admin the applicant is listed under the site’s Users’table. I change the role to Vendor but still see no associated WC Vendors listing in either WordPress, wooCommerce or WC Vendors settings.

    (2) I created a personal account and changed my status from Subscriber to vendor but got no email notification.

Are these normal behaviours? How will the applicants be notified that their application is approved to Vendor status?

The email to the admin does not have a link to follow back to view the application and I’m wondering whether the applicant, if they do get an email, gets a link to return to the dashboard. I don’t see such an email option in teh wooCommerce Settings.

  • 1.) wp-admin > Users > All Users > Pending Vendors > hover over the users name and click “Approve”. Or, manually change the role. Both methods work, but when you click “Approve” the vendor gets the approved vendor email telling them they can now sell on your site. You won’t see any listings for that vendor until the vendor has added products of course. 🙂

    2.) See #1

Aah. Thanks. I changed the applicant’s role back to Pending vendor and followed the steps and was able to click “Approve”. The email was sent. Now I will edit the template to include a link to the dashboard and some procedural information.

I see four Vendor related email templates that can be edited from the wooCommerce Settings page: Notify vendors | Vendor Application | New Vendor Product | Vendor has shipped.

It seems the “Approved” email takes its content from the status tags in the Vendor Application template. What kind of conditional statement can I add so that if the $status is “approved” I can add a block of procedural user info?

Probably “if”. 🙂 Google is your friend here. We’re not exactly PHP instructors. 🙂

I don’t want PHP instruction just WC vendor. Is if ($status->'approved'){//some help info} syntax that is good in this case?

If I get the answer here others seeking the same solution who would then only have to search the WP Forum rather than the universe.

I assume that everyone, like me, is completely ignorant and am trying to help the app provide a pleasant user experience from admin, to vendor to buyer.

That’s correct! I think that most people using WC Vendors are pretty technically literate. We’re high on customization and most people tend to understand PHP and WordPress inside and out. Sure, we do have some novices, but we do try to teach them everything by pointing them in the right direction. 🙂
