    Hyphenator doesn’t chance quotation, it only adds possible break points for hyphenation when rendered by the browser. Do you also use some typography plugins?

    No, I don’t. wp-Typography is installed, but inactive, since it added hard hyphens to copied text. This is strange… maybe WordPress itself has some rules now regarding the German way of writing quotation marks?

    Hi,

    If you provide a link to website with the issue (I guess it’s not sanktionsfrei.de, because of target blank) I can see what’s the problem.

    Generally for the quotes – it’s somewhere in CSS either includes files.
    For example – I have theme builded on Twenty Fourteen and Twenty Fifteen and both have different quotes. So please disable Hyphenator and see, if then quotes are the same as with enabled.

    Hi,

    of course, Hyphenator did not actually have anything to do with it! It confused that with wp-typography, which has both features (I do not use it any more). Sorry to bother you.

    Here is the test page. Deactivating Hyphenator did not change anything.
