Links visible on main page but not from archives (5 posts)

I am starting to play with WordPress (2.0.3) and have noticed something unusual. A "post" with an href tag embedded in it looks and works right when that post is on the home page, but if you click on the "date" in the archive section, the link seems to have been "removed".

For instance, go to "www.parkerpress.com". Scroll clear to the bottom, and you'll see a post that has a link to "Family Gallery" enabled.

However, if you click on "December 2005" in the Archives, this post no longer has an active link. If you click on the title to display just that page, the link is fine.

Is this intentional (stripping of <a href> tags) or is this a bug?

As you look over your theme's archive page, is it using the_excerpt() or the_content()?

Apologies - I meant your theme's Category page (or whatever used per Template Hierarchy)

This is in the "WP-Andreas01 1.3" theme. It appears that i's using "the_excerpt()", not "the_content()".... Is it really as easy as changing that function call?

    TIA, SRP

Yep, it really is just that easy. :-)

    Check out this plugin: http://guff.szub.net/2005/02/26/the-excerpt-reloaded/

It lets you do some nifty customizing of the_excerpt...
