[Resolved] links to https if you create a post over https

  • Hi,

If you create a post while logged in to wordpress over https, the url that wp-to-twitter posts on twitter is a link to your site via https. This is undesirable if you use a self signed certificate because then users see an SSL error when they visit your site.

Please consider making an option to always post http links rather than https.

    Thanks,

    Jason

I’ll consider that. I have to be able to differentiate between https and http links in some way, however, because the t.co short URL is a different length depending on whether or not it’s over HTTPS.

    Thanks for considering it,

So, I haven’t been able to reproduce this. Which URL shortener, if any, are you using?

    Hi,

    I’m using bit.ly

Here is a link to a post I did today:

Since I posted my feature request to you, I upgraded to a proper SSL certificate so I no longer get the error on this site. However I still think its a worthwhile thing to add for people who are using self signed certs.

So, I tested this with Bit.ly, and I’m still not getting the same result; I’m getting an http link.

Under Settings > General, what values are entered for “WordPress Address” and “Site Address”?
