I need to show the links to public but if it is a non member the links will redirect him to registration page (and if it is a registered member it will redirect him to the catalog.

It has been so frustrating, for weeks now…..
    Please help me!

  • What exactly are you looking for?

Have you tried the Nav Menu Roles plugin?

yes I did….but it didn’t get me what I need.

I am trying to show on the nav links to two catalogs. Those catalogs are available only to members level 2. But i still want the links (only the links) on the nav to be visible to everyone.

so when a non member click on them the link will redirect him to registration page. if the a member will click on them the link will redirect him to the catalogs.

    please someone….help 🙁

OK. What settings did you try with that plugin?

I will explain better – since I think it is a visual composer problem. I am using Oxygen woo commerce theme.
On the pages I have products that most of them are available only to members level 2. If I uncheck the Alternative view filters I can see the links but also all the products (that were insert with visual composer).
When I check the alternative view filters I get what I need for the products (just a few available to the public) but then other links are not visible.

I tried the plugin a while ago – I am struggling with it for a long time. but it didn’t seems to solve my problem.
I can try again though…and tell you the settings I used

p.s the authors of the theme could not help. I am not sure who to turn to for help!

Oh, VC strikes again! Yes, you have no chance of getting what you want while using Visual Composer. This is because VC stores everything within itself, so it’s not available for other plugins to “see.”

Honestly, no-one can help you but yourself. If you really need to achieve this, you must take everything out of VC and put it on your posts and pages where WordPress designed it to go. Then it will all work beautifully.

And, I can assure you, if you disable VC altogether, your site will also be much faster. That plugin is a real dog.

Actually, I see that I did tell you this two weeks ago. Have you really wasted all that time on this?

Honestly, it won’t work unless you stop using Visual Composer!!

Thanks…..I will stop! I did a great mistake using it.
I am new with WP so – what should I do ? in order not to mess everything up. I have 600 products in two languages. I just disable it? what would be the best way to approach it?

Sorry if I sound ridicules but that way I will get rid of it for good!

What theme are you using? If it’s a paid theme, just name it, and tell me where you go it from, but don’t provide a hyperlink, or the mods will delete it.

    🙂
It’s a paid one from Envato market themeforest – Oxygen – WooCommerce WordPress Theme

    Thank you sooooo much!

I had a look at the Oxygen page, but they don’t provide any details of how they use VC. I suspect that means that they have fully integrated it, which means that, while you should be able to turn it off so that it doesn’t appear as an option for entering content, it will still actually be on. That means, unfortunately, that you won’t see any speed gain.

(By the way, if you need to buy a theme again, take a look first at the Mustang Lite theme here at wordpress.org. That’s written by a developer who sells an upgraded version that works with WooCommerce, and he uses all the bells and whistles that developer on ThemeForest do. But he puts them in a separate plugin, so you can turn them on and off properly, which is how it should be designed.)

In your case, you have a choice to make. Either just stick with what you have now, or else you have a long job ahead (but your menu links will work) because VC doesn’t provide any means of exporting content!

If you want the long job, first you need a plain text editor on your computer, like Geany, Pluma, or Notepad ++. Don’t use a word processor!

Then you need to open up Visual Composer on your first post, select all, and cut and paste it into your text editor (and save it with a helpful name, which will give you a backup). Now save in VC, so that it saves as empty.

Now paste the content of your text editor into the “real” WordPress editing screen. You might find that visual works better than html, or the other way round. Try it out and see. Don’t forget to save!

I’m afraid you’ll have to do this with every post and page you have. Not only that, but you might well find that you now have a lot of shortcodes that don’t work. Again, you just have to try it and see.

If you need something that you had before in VC but don’t have after doing this, you will need to look for a plugin to do it.

Once you have cut and pasted everything out of VC, you can find the option in your theme to turn it off.

Thank you very much for your response and help.
I know now never to use VC.

I will try it out. I know I can separately turn off the plugin but a you said also I am not sure if it is completely integrated. I will try.

Just a question – when you say post you mean also product? I dont have posts. I have only pages and products.

    Thanks again

A product is actually a special type of post (called a custom post type). So yes, I also meant product.

    Good luck!
