links of sub-items in menu-bar changed mysteriously
-
Since 3.8.1 the links in the menu-bar changed mysteriously. Sub-items now have the main menu item in their url.
The website is http://kirtan.nu/.
For example: the sub-item “kirtan-uitleg” (sorry, the site is in Dutch) under the main-menu-item “(wat is) kirtan” used to be http://kirtan.nu/kirtan-uitleg/.
Now it has changed to http://kirtan.nu/wat-is-kirtan/kirtan-uitleg/
The original sub-item urls are redirected to the new longer ones.
Any idea on how this might have happened?
I also have deactivated a breadcrumb-plugin. Could that have anything to do with it?Thanx
Hans

@hansbeen I use still older version of wordpress than 3.1.8 ans till I have problems.
And the most interesting is – this morning it was still ok without any problem. Just one hour ago- my Blog folder in main menu does not work anymore. All the rest is ok.
@ Zuzliak: my point is: I started a topic on changed url’s in sub-Items in the menu, but now I am getting a lot of mails on deleting jigoshopa, a plugin I don’t have.
You see the point in stating your own topic?@hansbeen I’m truly sorry. Forgive me. That wasn’t the purpous- I only found on your post that I’m not the only one which links from menu did disappeared.
I activated Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated, no difference.
I actualy use a twnety-eleven child themHave you tried updating your custom menu via Appearance -> Menus?
I am on that page, but I don’t see how to do that. Can you explain? How to update and what that excactly means in this situation?
btw: thanx for al the answers
Is your custom menu set up correctly? Have you checked each menu item? Or tried setting up the menu again?
MyBlog in menu works now perfect- just it happened, but my new page in menu “atelier” doesn’t show the posts which it includes – it’s a mystery
@esmi: it worked ok for 2 years, and after the update it went wrong. I will try o set up one menu-item with sub-item to test
I removed 1 menu-item and sub-item, saved the menu, and then added the items again, saved, and it stayed the same.
Isn’t there a place where one can influence the way the links themselves are below the names in the menu? Can you elaborate on what you meant by that last sentence?
how to influence the links of sub-items in the menu
Are you using a custom menu?
