Links not working in left sidebar

  • I have successfully added a right sidebar to a theme that had only a left sidebar. I created a sidebar-left.php and a sidebar-right.php, changed functions.php to have two sidebars and created CSS divs for both sidebars. Sidebar-left floats left and sidebar-right floats right around the main content.

To get the two sidebars to be on either side of the main content I had to put <?php get_sidebar(‘left’) ?> and <?php get_sidebar(‘right’) ?> before the container for the main content.

Everything looks great but the problem I am having is that none of the links in the left hand sidebar work. The mouse pointer doesn’t even change when I mouse over the links.

The strange thing is that if I make the main content too big to fit between the two sidebars then it appears below as it should and the links in both sidebars work perfectly well.

Can anyone help me with this?

Dis you amend the main content width to accommodate the additional sidebar?

Since I have no idea where your site is, I can only guess but previous experience suggests that your content is effectively overlapping your left sidebar and preventing the links from working.
