Links not showing in excerpt

I have just installed Path as a theme, and like it a lot. One annoying issue I keep having, though, is that I can’t get links to work in the shortened/excerpt texts on the main/index page. This applies to ‘read more’ links not being shown if there is an excerpt available or the ‘more’ tag is used, but also to links to document files etc. Is there a fix/workaround for this? Thanks a lot in advance!
