• I am trying to place typical HTML anchor links, to external websites, in the header.php just below the header banner image. The header page is part of a theme.

Here is what the link looks like in the source code:
    <a href="http://google.com" >google</a>
That same code works fine by itself in an HTML file.

But in the rendered page, even though that link renders in a “link” color for the theme, there is NO response when clicked. I also noticed that the text in that same area of the header cannot be selected with the cursor.

I am new to WP. But I have been coding for 25 years in many languages.
Is this behavior to be expected in the Header of a WP home page?

Is there a setting I am unaware of?
    Thanks

  • What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

I downloaded the purchased theme from the Envato Marketplace. The authors are paral.lel.us The theme is political called The Frontrunner. See it at getourjobsbackinc.net. please no flames about the site. This is a technology discussion. Thanks for asking.

I’m sorry but as you appear to be using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not have access to, nor do we support, commercial products here.

Wow. I just brought the site up on my phone and the links work fine there. But not on my desktop. Strange. Well sorry about the false alarm…maybe.
