Support » Fixing WordPress » Links in blogs

  • I want to create blogs and link to the source story eg local newspaper article. I upload a link, preview it and it looks great. Once I publish the link is no longer a link and it looks completely different.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Any advise is appreciated

  • If you could specify “it looks completely different” ?

What WP Version are you using, are Permalinks enabled?
What kind of Provider do you use, a link to your site?

    WordPress 3.3.1

The links are just words even though the preview show them as links. Also, the formatting changes

Cairns Airport website link works fine.

What link does exactly not work?

Under the blog title “Cairns Blues Festival”are the words Cairns Blues Festival – this is supposed to be a link to the official site of the Cairns Blues Festival. It is in preview mode but not when I publish..

Is there anyone who can help me with this problem. I insert a link into a post. I preview the post and it looks like a link. I then view it on my site and it appears as a series of words.
Yet, I have been able to insert a link in a post in the past!

    [please do not bump]

please post a direct link to a post or page where the problem can be seen.

links and formatting is often ‘missing’ when the output is done via the_excerpt() as compared to the_content() in whatever template is showing the posts.

as you seem to be working with a customer specific designed theme (?) have you tried to contact the theme author/programmer?

Ok – the individual blogs keep the links. It is only when I view the blog page as a whole they disappear.
What I wanted was a series of links with some commentary.
Thank you for your help – I will continue to work on the presentation.
