links forces http

  • In the links (/wp-admin/link-add.php) section whenever I add a link to my computer, such as:
    /Users/MAC/Desktop

it strips the data out and will not save the link.

I can only input http:// addresses

Is there a way around this?

    Thanks

  • if you start it with a / it shouldn’t strip it, but if you start it without the / then it will strip it and add http://

    i.e. /Users/Mac will not change
    but Users/Mac will

    thanks @luckdragon

however when I add this: /Users/MAC/Desktop

    I get this:

    http ://www.mysite. com/Users/MAC/Desktop

I just want it to hit: /Users/MAC/Desktop

    Is that possible?
