 * Hey there, is it possible to have a link or icon that when pressed the lightbox
   pops up? So not a thumbnail, just a word link (like click to view images) or 
   an icon?

   this for a single image (not a gallery) then I would recommend using the SinglePic
   functionality of NextGEN Gallery.
 * If you are looking for a way to link to a Lightbox containing all of the gallery’s
   images then that is not currently available but we would be happy to read your
