  • I made a new page for a day of the week called monday.php in the theme/content directory. I want to create a link on my sidebar called “monday” that will bring up this page. I can’t figure out how to call it using php. I understand when you call a category it is
but how would I call a page that isn’t a category called monday.php?

  • Instead of creating a “physical” file called monday.php why don’t you create a Page in the Write > Write Page admin panel and give it the title “Monday”? In that case you could call it by where X is the Page’s ID#.

    More about Pages:

In the blix theme, new pages are put on the header instead of the sidebar, I want these links to go on the sidebar. ALso, I want to put in a new loop for the code on the new page, so it query’s different categories.. I don’t think I can do this from the write page menu.

    1. Blix is a wonderful theme but because it is using a lot of it’s own functions (coded in BX_functions.php file) it’s not easy to modify. It has to be a way how to not include newer Pages into the top horizontal menu – but you’d be better off to ask for assistance from the author.
    2. If you want a different Loop for a certain Page – you have to create a Page template file in your theme and then write a Page by using that template. See details at the link above.

I wrote a template page, i just don’t know how to link to it from the sidebar menu if it is not a category or page.

You do not link to template file! You should link to the Page created by using that template.
