  • So I wanted to link my website to Pinterest. (I first moved my blog to wordpress yesterday).

I got some code from Pinterest where they said I should paste it in the HTML on my site or something.

How do I do that? Where should I paste the code? 🙂

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

It depends on what the code is and where you want it to appear. Plain HTML can go into the Custom HTML block inserted into any content. If the code contains JavaScript (has <script> tags), the WP parser will corrupt the code, so cannot be placed directly into content.

If the code does not need to be in post or page content, it can be added to the appropriate theme template (outside of <?php ?> blocks). When you alter theme templates it’s recommended you create a child theme to protect your custom work from theme updates.

If JavaScript needs to be within post/page content, it needs to be placed there via a custom shortcode. For more on shortcodes, see https://developer.wordpress.org/apis/handbook/shortcode/
