My links are done as [no space YouTube.blah

    They’re all dead.

So I read about linking them. I tried http colon slash slash www url. Nah Appears as incorrect.

Embedding was a great idea but no explanation.

So … do I need a plugin to link videos or is there another coding trick?

If you just paste in the URL of the video, WordPress will automatically convert it to an embed: https://wordpress.org/support/article/embeds/

I tried but the post comes out as

    hspace space space space ttp://www.youtube.com/blahblahblah

I tried two plugins but neither would change the format.

I’m really desperate because I have about fifteen videos in individual posts. I’m thinking of doing just one long post with the links but they have to work

Where are the spaces coming from? You should just be copying and pasting from the URL bar into the editor.

No idea how the spaces get there or why the h is bold and separate. I just type http://url.

I used to think that the host caused the issue but I am on a new host.

Don’t type anything, just copy and paste from the URL bar into the editor.

Won’t work. I’m in Visual Editor and typed http etc and it appears as [youtube space code]

Just redid it and it appears as http://www.youtube.com/code

    Not clickable

    Got it! Embed code worked!

    Thank you

I give up. Every post that I changed is broken but the first. Bold h large then ttp://

I tried the embed page but it doesn’t work.

I tried the embed code in Visual again and nothing works.

    I’m really frustrated

Why are you trying to type it though?

Why are you not simply copying and pasting from the URL bar into the editor as directed?

    (@sicksquirreltwo)

I’m copying it from 23 blog posts. I’ve copied and pasted from YouTube and it appears as a link sometimes

Ok, add a new block, this time choose a YouTube block, and paste the URL into that.

No YouTube block there. But tonight I saw just a few videos showed as a video and not a link. I carefully looked at the code. The videos had watch?v= after dot com. Duh! I tested it on two posts and it appears fine.
