I’ve written a post (POST) and I want to include a hyperlink at the end of the content text that will direct the viewer to a custom designed “excerpt page” (PAGE) which I have designed using Page Template. The hyperlink isn’t a problem, so much as what follows.
What I’d like to do is in my breadcrumb navigation at the top of this new excerpt page (PAGE) I need to have the original Post Title Permalink structure (POST) visible in the bct navigation so that the viewer can return back to the original post (POST) from this static excerpt page (PAGE).
Using standard html hyperlink structure won’t work, because this excerpt page is called dynamically, depending on which post (POST) is currently being viewed. The excerpt page itself is pretty much “Static” – once written that’s it – no further information added.
I’ve tried using [a href]=”
<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="Permalink"><?php the_title(); ?>[/a] in the bct, which is fine. This actually brings up the PAGE post title, but not the Original POST permalink title, which of course is what I’m after.
I’ve also tried numerous bct plugins, but I don’t like that they produce the mysterous “CATEGORY” before each POST category
(ie: home/book/category/romance/etc/etc..) because this ‘category’ links is actually clickable and brings up a standard 404 error page, because, well… there’s nothing in that mysteriously empty category… 🙂
Can someone please advise what type of code I’ll need in order to show the original POST Permalink Title in this breacrumb navigation structure for a PAGE?
And I sincerely hope I’ve explained what I require with sense.
