I am new to WP so sorry in advance for my lack of know how. On my homepage I have a photo that I want the user to click and it will open a catalog showing products for sale. The catalog was a template from my supplier. It has been edited to reflect my info and saved on my hardrive. The index file views correctly opened from my hard drive but I cannot get the link to work from the homepage graphic. I don’t understand what I am missing. Thanks for the help.

    What does this mean?

Is the index file your homepage or the catalogue? If your catalogue is a pdf, then you will need to upload the pdf to your media library and then link the image to the pdf.
If the catalogue is an html file, then that file will need to be uploaded on your server. Otherwise, people won’t be able to link to a file that is on your hard drive.

Sorry. The index file is the catalog. It is an html file.

I understand what you are saying. Once uploaded do I need to rename the index file so it will not interfere with the WordPress files? Thanks for the help.

If I were you, I would create a folder called catalog in my root directory and upload the index.html in there. That should do the trick.

Thank you so much. I’s working. The images didn’t come over but I should be able to fix that. Thanks again.
