I’m using the Publicize plugin in Jetpack 3.4.1. I was able to establish a connection to LinkenIn initially, then the connection terminated and I am unable to reconnect. I get the following message: “The partner did did not properly implement the authentication protocol.” Looked the forum and could not find a resolution. Thank you in advance.

  • I’m having the same problem. Tried disabling WP Security and removing LinkedIn to connect. Does not work. Seems the same problem occured last year when looking at this forum.

Can you both use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your sites?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    Thanks!

Same issue with one of my sites. The error message displayed is ‘There was a problem creating your connection’.

Things I have tried include; logging out and then back in to wordpress.com to re-initialise the Jetpack connection with my site, disconnecting from LinkedIn on the Publicize settings page.

Nothing has been changed on our site, all plugins are up to date and we’re running the latest version of Jetpack (3.4.1) and WordPress (4.1.1).

Will send you details via the debug page and await for my happiness to be engineered.. Thanks.

The response I received from the Jetpack team might help others who are frustrated by this issue:

LinkedIn is only allowing WordPress.com (which is where all Publicized requests come from) to make a certain number of new connections per day, and our developers are still actively working with them to get that limit increased. You are welcome to continue to try connecting Publicize to LinkedIn, and hopefully we will have a resolution soon.
