LinkedIn improvements

  • Good suggestion! We will consider it on future versions.

Yes, can you fix this please. Having the linkedin.com/in/ path restricts linking to company pages. This makes this plugin unsuitable for businesses and only for personal bloggers.

I would agree that adding that “in/” on the end of the LinkedIn URI is an unresolved bug.

Yes, please. I was stumped for awhile wondering why the link to my group kept redirecting to some random individual. Anyone have a workaround? (Other than having different follow buttons for different social networks.) I tried editing the file to remove the “in” but didn’t have any luck.

The upcoming release will have this feature. If you prefer, check the Follow Plugin from our development branch ( http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/addthis-follow.zip )

Please note that this version is still under development and may have issues.

Thanks. The install for that file has failed for now. (Perhaps it’s not yet strictly an update to my current install and I therefore have to deactive or uninstall the current version first?) I’ll sit tight until the new release.

In the meantime, a clarification? Will the new support be for LinkedIn groups also or only for companies? Groups is the issue I’m having. In my novice reading of the code, I only see the support for LinkedIn companies.

Hello Robert, sorry for the delay in reply.

The groups support is not in yet. We will be adding it to the upcoming release. Were you able to make the current version working on your site?

Thanks for getting back to me Srijith. I never got that beta version you sent me working. The live supported version works as intended, but as we discussed, it doesn’t quite do everything I need it to yet. If you visit any page on http://www.moocnewsandreviews.com you’ll see your plugin under Follow Us. My visitors are following me on those networks that I have buttons for, which is great. But, no LinkedIn button, no followers on my group there. (: I’m not skilled enough to go in the code and modify your plug in.
