 * Hi all, I am trying to get some more visitors to my site and on the seochat.com
forum I found a free service called Link Vault.
This is basically a link exchange
programme which allows you to easily get more links pointing to your website
and therefore a higher rank in the search engines.
 * I am wondering if any of you have experience with these kind of tools, I do not
know if it works yet because I only signed up today…
 * Here is the address: [http://www.link-vault.com/?ss=2399](http://www.link-vault.com/?ss=2399)
   (
Yes, when you sign up using this address I receive a higher Vaultage, is this
   spam?)
 * I am curious about your experiences!

 * Well, except for that fact that you risk being banned by every know search engine
on the world-wide web, it seems legit.

 * You’re going to get better results by building links naturally with blogs that
feature content similar to your own. Even if they don’t all get banned (and their
guidelines _may_ be strict enough to prevent that) the value of the links will
probably be pretty low because they’ll lack relevance. And even if the search
engines let the whole thing slip by without an outright ban they may still discount
   the links value.

 * Mmm, so it seems that doing this is very risky…
 * I will just give it a try on a website that is now getting almost no traffic
at all, and I won’t start using this system on my important sites.
 * I’ll get back to you when I find out if it helps or when the site has been banned
   by all search engines 🙂

 * BTW, the entire domain gets banned, not just the site that link farms.

 * actually, you never get banned from being linked to by odd sites. this is to
prevent your competitors from getting your web site banned. there is a strong
penalty for linking to a link farm, though. and
 * also, and indeed, irrelvant links reportedly hardly count today. then again,
a search engine has to determine whether a link is relevant, and can only procede
if there is some inhomogenity. meaning that even the least relevant link will
   count.

 * the risk i think is very low for the target domain. if you use link vault you
can choose a domain as a target which is not in den network. maybe there is a
little risk for the domains, which are used to get vaultage. i´ve you could
hurt a domain with incoming links a “webmaster war” would be the consequence.

 * Link Vault isn’t much different in concept to reciprocal link exchange – gets
hundreds of low value links on unrelated sites.
    Sometimes, it works very well,
esp on non-competetive terms. It also works wonders on Yahoo and MSN. I believe
the risk of being banned is minimal, although it’s quite possible that G will
simply ignore the links. It’s certainly not in the same black hat realm as cloaking
   or doorway pages.
